Sports are powerful. They teach kids competition, sportsmanship, hard work, resilience and friendship.
A portion of the funds raised by the DP Open are donated to local soccer organizations to help parents cover the cost of league fees, travel, camps and gear.
"As a soccer club, Rush firmly believes in the value of sports and the promotion of physical, mental and social well-being it brings to our youth. Through the support of the DP Open we will be able to further our mission of positively impacting the youth in Snohomish County. The DP Open is especially important to me as I had the honor of coaching Daniel Phelps at the University of Washington his senior year. Daniel quickly won me over not only because of his outstanding play on the field at UW, but for the person he was. He was caring, compassionate, loved to have a good time and had a heart of gold. The DP Open is a perfect way to remember him, his passions in life and his overall love for soccer."
